Hot weather...

I have not calfed yet I have just had myself another busy weekend. Well really not too busy. The truth of the matter is that I have been blog lazy and well I have spent a lot of time in my wading pool cooling off as the temperatures here have been about 29*C but with the humidity feels like 39*. Tomorrow I get to actually spend the afternoon in a real pool which I am looking forward to, as I hear that swimming is different while pregnant!

...and more snow…but the snow could stop at anytime really!! I don’t think our igloo will be melting anytime soon, in fact we have another 2 feet of foundation added to it over the weekend. OK maybe not 2 feet but pretty damn close.

I decided to work Saturday morning cause I am nice and stupid. My shift was only 7am – 11am, which was not big deal cause I know that I can’t work for the next two weekends even if they wanted me to. I know I said no more overtime, but they were in a jam and really I just surfer the net anyway. Hey, it’s not like I get paid for my overtime!! As I mentioned we got snow, it was around the time that I left work that the snow started to fall, to the point where you couldn’t see 1/2 block n front of you.

I decided that getting my haircut or anything else for that matter was out of the question and went home hoping to get the house cleaned. Kenny’s cousin who stoped by for the afternoon saving me from cleaning the house. When she left it was totally crazy out and her little car was buried underneath I swear a foot of snow and she was only there for 4 hours. I didn’t get much of the cleaning done after that cause Kenny was home from work, but he did help me do a quick run through the house and then we made supper. We were going to order out but by this time there were no delivery services operating. Kenny and I had a great night snowed with the intent of watching a few movies it is only funnier than hell that we both fell asleep at 8:30pm and woke up at 2am to go up to bed.

So now it’s Monday the first day of my hours being changes from 7am – 4pm, and I am not impressed, in fact I am tired. I know big surprise. It’s just that this weekend doesn’t even feel like it has any moments of rest and not enough fun, even though we slept most of it and we did have company and got out of the house for a while. Weird I know. Do I even make sense at this point? If not just stop reading now. Or keep reading just for the laugh of confusion. Along with the 2 feet of snow that we got over the weekend they couldn’t have picked a finer weekend to screw me over with this shift change my body now feels like it’s getting up two hours early instead of one. Idiots!!

Yesterday was supposed to be the most depressing day of the year I was told by the man on the radio. It was cold, and I mean bitter cold, but I never found it depressing. And yet I find today to be so much worse, depressing would be a word that I would use. Maybe it’s just cause he mentioned it and then told us about the weather right after. I am sure the millions of huge snowflakes have a lot to do with my lack of zest for life. I hate snow. We are supposed to get 6” of the crap by the end of today. It gives me a headache thinking about it. I mean it looks nice when you are stuck inside and don’t have to go out in it. Going out in it just drives me nuts.

Attention: People it snows here each year, it’s called Canada. Land of the snow! The polar bears! The igloos! Mind you sometimes it snows more than others, but you still drive in it the same as you did last year, last moth, or in our case last week, and the week before!!

Today I had to brush off my car with my hands cause well…I don’t have a snow brush anymore?! I am not too sure what happened to the one that I owned. I feel pretty dumb for not having a back up really. I do know that the Magnum is much bigger than the Swift so this made my fingers really really cold. It wasn’t so bad to do before, but the length of the new car makes me want to pay that extra money on a brush just so that I can feel my fingers as I drive.

The nice leather wrapped steering wheel in the new car looks great but makes your hands feel like they are hypothermic adding to that use-your-hands-as-a-snow-brush feeling and leaving them feeling as though they will never going to work again. I guess not a great start to the day can make things suck. Maybe I need a night in my warm and fuzzies and a cup of hot chocolate maybe even a few cuddles from Kenny. Or maybe I just need a holiday…I wish I had more holidays!!

There is a severe thunder storm warning so I will make this one pretty quick so that I can shut the computer off before it get's fried.

I am getting to the point now that sometimes I feel I can no longer express myself here with hearing it from someone. I wish that I never told anyone I know about this place so I could let out all of my stresses without having to deal with people getting mad about how I feel. It's true though, everyone knows about my space, the address is even a part of my signature of my email. I want to share my life with people, but they keep getting mad at me for what I write about. I wanted this place to be my spot, and I know that this is my space...but I feel like it's everyone else's place to critique what I say about what I feel in my life. It's funny, I never knew what I could feel, as in my own feelings, could be wrong!

So this will be an entry about my gourmet meal that I made. So, I made a meal last night. Check our the pictures of my spinach fish. I know it's so exciting you can hardly contain yourself!! I just threw a bunch of stuff in a pan. Looks gross and taste really good. Mmmmmm!! I can’t believe that I made it, of course Kenny helped. I am very scared of the BBQ, so he cooked it.

So I spun my car out on the way home today, didn’t stall it just slipped it into neutral. I just about had it under control when it slid out in the other direction so in order to not have the cars behind me run into his side of the car I used the curb to stop. LOL I bet my alignment is a little out now! Not too sure what the guy I was driving home thought of it though. It made me laugh, and he just looked at me and said "well that was fun?!". When I dropped him off I told him I was sorry that he might have to change his gitches. Guess we will find out what he though of it tomorrow. I will know if he says that he doesn’t need a ride home each time he does that I scared him good. Although he rolled a car before so I bet that 360 we did was nothing! The funny part was that it happened just as I was saying to him that I wasn’t worried about my driving that I was more worried about other peoples, and maybe a little bit about my bald tires. Everything was fine and no one got hurt.

I still feel pretty yucky but I went to work today anyway. We are a little further behind right now than I want to be so it is best that I go in to make sure that we get caught up. Maybe tomorrow will be a snow day? Cause as I look out the window it is snowing very hard. It is also very windy too. It has been snowing and blowing since I got done work. Maybe we will get this 12" of snow just yet?

A big Happy Birthday goes out to Eva (who if you have been following along got a computer for Christmas) and I am trying to get her into the blogging world. I doubt she will ever have one of her own but I know she occasionally reads mine!! Linda is celebrating a birthday tomorrow too. She is a Valentine's baby, what a perfect present! Hope everyone has a great Valentine's Day!!

Today I woke up to beautiful world of deadly ice. Now the pathetic part is that I am Canadian and I can’t even skate, and it doesn’t help that I have no balance either. I thought this storm was supposed to be 10 - 15 cm of snow! I don’t remember anyone saying anything about freezing rain? Oh ya and now as I say that and look out the window here comes the snow. This should really be fun by tomorrow for sure!!

It was everywhere, on half of SKRUMSHZ (my car cause only half of it fits under the car-port right now), the house, the sidewalk, the roads, the gates at work, and the locks to unlock them, the path to the door (where I ended up on my butt, tea, keys and my lunch everywhere, as seen in blog picture), and even in the locks to the doors of the shop. It caused me only minor problems as far as I am concerned. I had a wet butt and leg for the most part of the day but at least I made it to and from work and SKRUMSHZ is in one piece. Although I did slide down the hill past the driveway heading for the curb on my way home!!

I took a few pictures of the ice on some thing in the back yard, sorry the camera battery was pretty much dead, and I didn’t see any good accidents on the way home either. I have added them to the "2007 January" album if you’d like to check them out. Going to make some garlic shrimp and seafood casserole for supper, that way the oven helps warm the house. After that I am having a bath and it’s straight into my "warm n fuzzies" for sure, cause it’s the perfect weather for them!!

So it snowed like 15" over night in the nearby city of London and so I was thinking that I might have a few people more away than I had scheduled off, but they were just late, one of them by half a day. LOL My grandparents live in London and have sent me photos, which I will post at the bottom. There are also 2 of our back yard. Big difference!!

I sprain my middle finger on my right hand a few weeks back, I just figured that it would take a day or two to feel better so I just babied it a little. Well the locks to the gates at work were frozen and I had to yank really hard on them, hurt my finger more. Now it is swollen and I had to put it in a splint so that I don't keep damaging it...this means that my typing sucks, and it is slow. It also means that painting tonight might be more of a challenge too. LOL I never realized how much I used that finger until I couldn't, and I don't just mean for giving it out to those who annoy me. They guys on the floor made me a little splint and we have taped it all up. It's rather cute really! So I am going to post something that I worked on yesterday.

Hot and muggy...

and just coated in sweat I am...LOL...

I think we somewhat suceeded in beating the heat today...ok well we did try. I started my shift an hour early which meant that I had to get up at 5 am and the plan was that we would try to have everyone go home at noon...of course there are always people who need the money and can't afford to leave early!

So they stayed until 2 pm, which meant that I had to stay until 3 pm, which is actually about now. It was one of those yucky and disgusting days when I felt like I had gotten out of the shower and just put my clothes on without drying off all day long. So needless to say I am cutting this one short and I will be rushing home for a shower!!

doesn't even begin to explain how sweaty I was when I got home. I was sweating in places that I didn't know I could sweat.

Meatloaf last night was great!! Dave (Amanda #3) if you are reading this you really missed out. I also found out that my camera works, well it did for the few pictures that I took. That is ok if they didn't fix it I will just send it back to them and they will do it again until they get it right. I don't know if the problem actually got fixed cause they stated that they could not recreate the problem, but they did calibrate and clean it. So who knows??

I went to work this morning so that I could work without getting paid again. One of my favorite things to do as you well know. I got stuck washing parts all morning. It sucked.

Then after I took Kenny lunch and visited with him for a bit...mmmmm....sub. It was really good. Got it toasted and the cheese was all melted and the garlic stuff was all in the bun and was all very good...

mmmmmmmm......that reminds me maybe I should make supper.

I then figured that I should cut mom's grass before it rained for the rest of the weekend and then it would be three weeks that we had not cut the grass for. So for the last three hours I was sweating my ass off and cursing at myself the whole time, who would leave the grass for that long......me. It was so long I had to walk so slow and it kept dying on me. Man am I ever glad I don't have to cut that again for a week.

I also stopped and saw my buddy on the way home. He is actually doing very good. Better that I thought, still in pain but the drugs are great he says. He seems to be adjusting quite well...in fact there was already talk of him going out on a bike....today for that matter...serious...he wasn't joking around. Once you get on a bike you just can't seem to get off of one, even if you got knocked off!! He said that he might want to wait until his leg heals a bit more just in case he loses his balance and as well I reminded him that he might want to be in a better frame of mind and off the super drugs that they have given him...oxycotton tends to make the mind foggy!!

Here comes the rain again...

sorry I know bad song but it's so true.....

We tried to go out last night and cut mom's grass, I even borrowed dad's truck cause Kenny's is still in the shop being fixed from my accident. Which by the way I dropped off the ticket today so I should have my court date soon, but anyways.... It figures as soon as we get the lawn mower in there and start driving it just started to pour. Of course now that it is sunny out I am at work, as well as I have a supper at Kenny's parents. LOL So I guess after work tomorrow morning I will have to jet out, hopefully the rain holds out for a bit.

In gooder news my friend is home from the hospital (YAY!!) which I think is weird cause well, it hasn't been many days. I guess when they figure you have healed enough and there seems to be no sight of an infection they just let you go home. So I will be stoping by to see him tomorrow after I have cut the grass, or is it rains just after work.

I think I might have my camera back. Kenny said that he has it but who knows whether they have really fixed it or not. I mean they didn't even have it for a week, cause I sent it out last Friday and they have been trying to drop it off for two days. I guess I will just have to take a lot of pictures this weekend to find out, they will be sorry if they just sent it back to me.

OK, here is a good Friday joke, not very funny in all reality but for some reason made me laugh my butt off everytime I read it...maybe cause of that movie Nacho Libre...when you get the accent going it makes it funnier...or not...anyways hopfully it atleast makes you smile....

and scorching on the outside!

We have a new air conditioner...it's bigger...it's better....and the best of all....it WORKS!! Well actually best of all it the fact that it can't be dropped out the window. It has a shell that you put in and then you slide the guts in. It's not a hwole unit lke the one I used to have. Kind of cool really, well really cool, almost a little too cool this morning when I got up too pee!!

32 degrees and feel like 36 degrees would be the forcast for this afternoon, but in our apartment it should remain a steady 20 degrees!!

I was thinking that I might have to get the grass cut today at mom's but now I am thinking that the idea might suck a lot!! Guess if I take it slow I will be OK, really don't know if I really feel like sweating my butt off though. If I don't do it soon it's going to be really hard to cut though, and the house is up for sale now so I should. Maybe tomorrow morning before the rain?!?

I think it would be better and cooler to put the vent visors put on my car that Kenny brought home at the beginning of the week. This would give me a chance to get the car washed, which could lead to getting it all cleaned out inside, like a spring clean up only it will feel more like a summer one cause it's way hotter!! Well I should probably get started on all of this.

No too sure what the rest of the day has in store for us, I know we have to make a quick run to Brantford to see if we can find something. I was hoping for a night just the two of us but I don't think that is going to happen!!
